Dean McGee

Dean McGee is Liberty Justice Center’s Educational Freedom Attorney, where he focuses on empowering parents and students to choose the educational path that best meets their needs.

Dean has spent his career litigating high-stakes cases. After graduating first in his class in law school, Dean joined the New York City office of an international law firm, where he litigated securities cases in state and federal court. A significant portion of his practice was also dedicated to pro bono work, including securing asylum for clients facing persecution in El Salvador and Sudan and staffing the firm’s legal clinics for veterans and for homeless youth. From 2015 through 2016, Dean took a sabbatical from private practice to serve as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge William H. Pauley III of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. He most recently served as partner and head of litigation at a New York law firm, where he was named by Hudson Valley Magazine as a Top Lawyer in the field of civil litigation.

Dean graduated first in his class at St. John’s University School of Law, where he was Research Editor for the St. John’s Law Review. He graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Geneseo, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science.
