Goldstein v. Professional Staff Congress

On August 22, the Liberty Justice Center filed an amicus brief on behalf of Richard Peltz-Steele urging the U.S. Supreme Court to hear Goldstein v. Professional Staff Congress—a case asking whether the state of New York is violating the First Amendment by requiring Jewish professors to be represented by a union they argue is engaging in antisemitic conduct. The Liberty Justice Center’s brief argues that state-compelled exclusive representation schemes by public sector unions violate employees’ constitutional rights, including their freedom of speech and freedom of association.
