Fellowship Opportunities

Litigation Fellowship

The Liberty Justice Center offers recent law school graduates a unique immersive opportunity to serve as a litigation fellow at a constitutional law firm for one year.

The Liberty Justice Center is a national nonprofit, nonpartisan public interest litigation center that represents clients at no charge. We are litigating in more than two dozen states to protect the Constitution and America’s founding principles. Our litigation focuses on educational opportunity, free speech, economic liberty, and workers’ rights, specifically related to our victory in the landmark Supreme Court case Janus v. AFSCME. The Liberty Justice Center is not your typical public interest law firm; we focus only on precedent-setting work, and take on only specific types of cases that we believe will achieve the most good for everyday Americans.

Litigation fellows receive training in both the legal theory and the practical skills required to succeed on the ground as lawyers. Fellows are an integral part of our litigation team, working on their own case portfolio while at LJC. In particular, the fellowship will prepare them for the tasks involved in the daily work of an attorney yet not taught in law school, such as filing cases.

In addition to receiving personalized training, litigation fellows will engage with seasoned lawyers and receive one-on-one mentorship from a senior attorney. They will participate in various legal strategies and collaborate with the legal team on substantive constitutional issues. Fellows will also have ongoing opportunities to build connections with other young lawyers and established professionals through attendance of conferences and events throughout the year.

The Liberty Justice Center’s litigation fellowship typically runs from September-August and functions as a fully remote position.

The Liberty Justice Center is currently accepting applicants for the 2025-2026 fellowship.

To apply for the litigation fellowship, interested candidates should send a cover letter, resume, transcript, and writing sample to Morgan Bowles at [email protected].
