Liberty Justice Center is seeking an attorney with 5 to 10 years of litigation experience to join our team of lawyers who fight to protect constitutional rights and individual liberty as Senior Counsel.
The Liberty Justice Center brings cutting-edge litigation to challenge the latest and greatest threats to liberty across the country. Our cases take on issues ranging from free speech to federal government overreach to educational freedom, among others.
Senior Counsels are responsible for:
- presenting new case ideas and seizing litigation opportunities, sometimes in very short order;
- supporting other attorneys on cases and providing strategic insight on other attorneys’ work in our very collaborative team environment;
- managing cases from top to bottom, which includes working with colleagues during the ideation process, speaking with prospective clients, researching and drafting cases as they are being strategized and prepared, working with colleagues on case launches and handling cases as they move through the courts;
- and acting as a spokesperson for the organization, when appropriate.
The culture of Liberty Justice Center is highly entrepreneurial, and Senior Counsels are expected to embrace, embody, and promote that culture. The Senior Counsel should have experience in the federal courts, including the appellate courts. The Senior Counsel must have outstanding writing and communication skills. At times, the Senior Counsel will also be expected to write articles for lay audiences and speak about the organization’s work in the media or at speaking engagements. Candidates must understand and be committed to the Liberty Justice Center’s mission and litigation approach.
Liberty Justice Center offers its employees competitive salaries, performance-based bonuses, health and dental insurance, and a retirement savings plan with employer matching. This position is fully remote, and candidates can work from anywhere in the U.S.
