NASHVILLE (August 5, 2022) – Today, a Tennessee state trial court denied efforts to block a scholarship program for students from low-income families from going into effect. Now, over 2,000 families have access to more than $8,000 in funds from the Tennessee Education Savings Account program to attend the independent school of their choice.
A coalition of parents and schools was represented by attorneys from the Liberty Justice Center, a national, Supreme Court-winning law firm. Managing attorney Brian Kelsey successfully argued to block efforts from Nashville, Davidson, and Shelby County to prevent the program from moving forward.

After fighting for over two years to gain access to better education opportunities, Tennessee children in failing school districts will finally be able to attend the school that best fits their needs.”
