CHICAGO (March 1, 2022) — The Liberty Justice Center announced today that Jacob Huebert will join the Liberty Justice Center as President effective March 1.
Jacob previously served as the Liberty Justice Center’s Director of Litigation. In that role, he successfully litigated cases to protect economic liberty, free speech and other constitutional rights. Jacob is well known for litigating the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case, Janus v. AFSCME, in which the court upheld government workers’ First Amendment right to choose for themselves whether to pay money to a union.
The Liberty Justice Center is a national, nonprofit litigation firm headquartered in Chicago dedicated to protecting Americans’ fundamental constitutional rights. Most recently, Liberty Justice Center attorneys have pushed back against government overreach and abuse of power in a series of lawsuits, including securing a court order blocking the federal government’s vaccine-or-test mandate for private businesses nationwide.

Jacob was also previously a Senior Attorney at the Goldwater Institute, where he litigated cases on free speech, property rights and the Second Amendment. Jacob and his work have appeared in numerous national media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Fox News Channel.
Jacob holds a B.A. in economics from Grove City College and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. After law school, he served as a clerk to Judge Deborah Cook of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Jacob has served as an adjunct law professor at several law schools, teaching courses in advanced appellate advocacy, the law of payments, legal writing and jurisprudence.
