Externs work for course credit toward a J.D. degree, according to the number of hours required by their school.
Litigation externs play an essential role on the Liberty Justice Center’s legal team. They primarily engage in intensive legal research for cases, but will, according to their skills and experience levels, be called upon to perform investigative and discovery work as well as day to day litigation duties.
Successful applicants have a strong work ethic and the drive and willingness to put in the work to get the job done. They share a commitment to classical liberal principles, including individual liberty, limited government and the free-market.
The Liberty Justice Center was founded in 2011. We pursue cases that advance liberty and defend rights secured under the United States and Illinois Constitutions. We file lawsuits against governments and government officials that abuse or exceed their legal authority, primarily in the areas of individual rights, economic liberty and property rights.
